“The Red Hand” Published in Thunder on the Battlefield: Sword

I’m delighted to announce that my fantasy short story, “The Red Hand”, has been published in Seventh Star Press’ Thunder on the Battlefield: Sword anthology.  The publisher did something neat in that they’re releasing a sort of double anthology — two volumes of sword and sorcery short stories, one entitled Thunder on the Battlefield: Sword and the other entitled Thunder on the Battlefield: Sorcery.

I originally wrote “The Red Hand” for a zombie anthology which Twisted Library Press was going to put out.  They accepted the story a year or two back, but later had to shut down the project before it could see publication.  Needless to say, I was disappointed as I really enjoyed writing the story and wanted to share it with the world.

But I didn’t give up on the story.  It took time and I met a few rejections along the way, but I eventually found the submissions call for Seventh Star’s press and I suspected “The Red Hand” would be on par with what they were looking for.  Turns out I was right!  Working with James R. Tuck was a real pleasure to work with, he made great editing suggestions and always maintained a respectful and kind attitude.

These anthologies have been released simultaneously and may both be found at Barnes & Noble and Amazon in ebook formats.  The anthologies should go to print sometime around the middle of August or a little later — I’ll update you when they do!

Thanks for reading, folks!
