Long story title, long magazine title — had to shorten it for the post title.
All the titles!
Basically, Goldfish Grimm’s Spicy Fiction Sushi — yes, one of the most fun magazine titles — published my story, “The Vast Weight of Their Bleeding Hearts” in Issue 13: Love in Colors of Ice and Space. This story was one of 31 stories I wrote during Story-a-Day May 2013. It was also one of *tw0* human/AI romance tales I wrote that month. What can I say? I am fascinated by artificial intelligence, robots, cyborgs and all that fun stuff. And throwing a desperate, clingy human into the mix — as we see in Vast Weight — just makes it more fun and probably more painful.
I really enjoyed working with Michael Haynes and Kelly Stiles, Goldfish Grimm’s new editors. They made some great edits to help polish this piece up all the more. Also, the artwork for this issue — created by Matthew Barron— is just killer…so gorgeous. I’m looking forward to reading the flash piece they selected for this issue.
This story is free to read, so please take a look when you get a chance. There’s also a brief interview here. You can comment on my story either here at the blog or on Goldfish Grimm’s website. I hope you enjoy the tale!
